MMT today announces that it has partnered with progressive start-up, Sapien Interactive, to develop the world’s first ever real-time Fantasy Football app, Bootbag.
Bootbag offers an inclusive, accessible gaming experience, bringing fans together in a single, fan-centric challenge. Its unique set up is built with the diverse and dynamic football community in mind. It covers all football league clubs, including lower leagues and the Women’s Super League: WSL, Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two.
Given MMT’s expertise in mobile development, the agency was appointed to build the fully functioning, complex gaming app and will also provide ongoing development support to service the rapidly growing Bootbag’s user base.
After the initial discovery phase, the team at MMT led the app development with its Agile Delivery Model and Engine Framework focusing on agile development best practice. The agency brought together a cross-functional team of specialists from Product Leadership, UX and UI, Cloud Services, Reactive Native Development, Testing, and Web Site readiness to ensure the project’s success.
Bootbag’s digital infrastructure is built within Google Cloud with a Firebase back end. The front-end app, enabled for both iOS and Android, was developed in React Native.
Using the agile delivery model, MMT was able to deliver and enhance multiple features that support user acquisition and ongoing retention.
Russ Chabot, Founder of Sapien Interactive, commented: “MMT jumped in and provided us with the enterprise level expertise we needed to quickly move from a start-up to a product with global scale. The energy and enthusiasm they showed when taking on the challenges of the project meant that we were able to keep our attention focused on the product, safe in the knowledge that the MMT team’s ‘can do’ attitude would deliver on our Go To Market plans.”
Tim Clegg, Technical Account Director at MMT, said: “The Bootbag mobile development has been an excellent project for MMT and with its ambition to scale the app to an international audience, we’re excited and confident that our model will help facilitate this growth journey.”
