The Agile Maturity Assessment is one of four MMT Digital Maturity Assessments, enabling you to measure and improve your company’s ability to quickly respond to the developments and shifting trends in your industry, in consumer behaviour and in technology.
This assessment is specifically designed to evaluate your company’s agile maturity and identify areas of improvement – such as streamlining the processes attached your digital solutions, implementing agile development or helping your team respond to change quickly.
The events of recent years – and the subsequent economic instability – have highlighted a genuine need for businesses to get more comfortable with disruption and change.
Companies that have thrived have been able to pivot in response to changing circumstances and grasp the unique opportunities of an evolving landscape, while quickly navigating the challenges.
These companies typically have high agile maturity. They are able to work collaboratively, are strongly aligned on agile practices and are able to innovate at speed, while still delivering their day-to-day products and services, and meeting their customers’ needs.
About the Agile Maturity Assessment
Our Agile Maturity Assessment will provide you with a clear understanding of your agile effectiveness and create a baseline from which you can measure improvements.
As a result, you will develop deep insight into your team’s agile maturity, understand what’s already working well, and discover where you can be investing further time and resources to promote better agility and see tangible returns.
This assessment will help identify key challenges in your organisation that may be stunting innovation and growth, including:
Siloed functions and teams that are too focused on their individual needs
Teams that struggle with changing requirements and priorities
The slow and unpredictable delivery of new products
Teams that do not experiment or try new things
For large organisations working across multiple teams, where maintaining visibility of these issues can be challenging, the Agile Maturity Assessment provides both a big picture view and a team-by-team analysis. Equipped with this understanding, and based on our detailed report and suggested actions, you can then develop an improvement plan and track your company’s progress.
The 5 pillars of agile maturity
To gather the most valuable insights and form the basis of a practical improvement plan, our Agile Maturity Assessment examines five foundational pillars:
High performing teams: how effectively are people and functions working together?
Process and governance: are agile best practices being used across your organisation?
Technology: are you using automation, and is data informing your decision making?
Organisational agility: is your business resilient and adaptive to change?
Culture of innovation: are people encouraged to embrace new ideas and experiment?
During the exploration phase of our Agile Maturity Assessment, we’ll gather information about each of these five pillars using surveys, workshops and an analysis of your existing tech capabilities. This will provide us with a clear picture of your current situation and help us identify areas of growth.
We will then use our custom organisational insights platform, Workbench, to analyse that information and provide ongoing insights into your progress around those pillars. The platform has diverse capabilities – for example, it can measure sentiment within your organisation and analyse internal communications to understand the agile influencers in your business, and who people are regularly going to for support.
The initial Agile Maturity Assessment takes four to eight weeks. However, the Workbench ensures that insights into your organisation’s agile maturity will forever be at your fingertips.
Agile maturity: a foundation for ongoing success
The knowledge generated by our Agile Maturity Assessment forms the basis of an enhancement plan. Suggestions to help refine your company’s agile maturity might include breaking down silos, supporting innovation and addressing inefficiencies in your development processes.
During and after this process, you are likely to see improvements in key performance indicators such as productivity, quality and predictability. This translates into quantifiable results including cost reduction and efficiency gains through shorter lead and cycle times, faster product delivery, reduced defects and the ability to meet and adapt to changing customer needs.
