Server Side Engineer (Java)

What you’ll do

We want to hear from enthusiastic Server-Side Engineers with real passion for the digital industry and the willingness to constantly learn, adapt and develop. You will be joining one of the leading digital agencies within the UK and will play a fundamental role in helping us continue to grow!

Ideally, you should be a Full Stack .Net developer who is at home with MVC, Web API and the associated front-end skills of HTML, JavaScript and CSS. You should also have experience of working in an agile team and be comfortable communicating with the client on daily stand ups, a good communicator. You should also have experience of working with Azure hosted applications and/or CMS based websites, as well as experience of Automated Testing and Continuous Integration.

What you’ll bring

In order to flourish in this role, you’ll need the following:

  • Solid experience of Java 8+, API development with MuleSoft Anypoint and OSGi components
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems, such as Adobe Experience Manager
  • Experience using build automation tools, such as Maven
  • Strong working knowledge of designing, developing and documenting RESTful APIs, especially with the use of Swagger
  • Good knowledge of software development methodologies and techniques
  • The ability to develop maintainable and supportable code: clean, reusable code that’s easy to read and test
  • Strong problem solving capability, confident using appropriate debugging tools
  • A willingness to document and share knowledge
  • A quality orientated attitude – you’ll understand software testing, the concept of test/behaviour driven development are able to write tests where appropriate

It would also be great (but not essential) if you have:

  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and environments in an Enterprise setting
  • Experience with Azure
  • Knowledge of .NET Core and SQL
  • Exposure to a client-side framework, ideally React.js
