What you’ll do

We are looking for someone truly interested in HR to join us for their Year in Industry as part of their degree.

You’ll be working as part of the wider HR and Recruitment team, where you’ll have several responsibilities designed to increase and deepen your knowledge and experience in this area. As we’re a SME, you’ll be exposed to a whole spectrum of HR situations. You’ll be involved in the employee life cycle from first day to last day, and a wide range of HR activities.

These will include:

  • General HR administration tasks including maintaining HR data and using HR systems.
  • Managing the team’s shared mailbox, responding to enquiries and/or acting as appropriate
  • Supporting on key HR activities including onboarding new starters and supporting with induction plans, responding to general HR queries and maintaining accurate HR records.
  • Understanding all aspects of the employee lifecycle from attraction, recruitment and onboarding
  • Supporting on and coordinating HR projects
  • Spending time with our Finance team to understand the payroll and expenses processes, as well as increasing your general commercial awareness
  • Working closely with the Recruitment team to support your knowledge and understanding of the Recruitment process and how that interacts with HR

What you’ll bring

In order to flourish in this role, you’ll need the following:

  • To be a current University student on a course that enables you to take an Industrial Placement Year (unfortunately if you have already graduated, or will graduate in 2021, you are not eligible for this role)
  • Working towards a degree in Business Management, Economics, HR, Psychology or a similar field, with a clear passion and interest in HR
  • To be a strong team player but also able to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the emotional intelligence to work with a wide range of people
  • The ability to find solutions to overcome problems
  • To be highly organised with an excellent eye for detail
  • Clear communication skills – both in writing and verbally

It would also be great (but not essential) if you have:

  • Completed modules in your degree that have given you a base level of knowledge in HR and/or Recruitment
  • Some hands-on experience in an administration role




Our aim is to reduce our carbon footprint as rapidly as possible.
