The husting is over, the bunting is down and the mad hysteria is at an end. After the chaos of a General Election we can finally return to normal. Well, some of us can, for others it is currently time in limbo, particularly if you work in the Public Sector. Mr. Darling laid out his plans for Public Sector cuts before the Election giving the people who hold the purse strings some idea as to what budgets they may be given this year. But then comes along huge a swathe of blue and yellow optimism as the country soundly proclaims it no longer wants a Labour government, and after everything has started to settle down, nobody is any the wiser.
Fiscal this, cuts that, efficiency this and wastage that. The new coalition government (the media has cleverly dubbed “Cleggeron”) has publicly declared that it’s going to be a rather thrifty year for the Public Sector. Just how far we do not yet know and we will be unaware until June 22nd.
One thing we can be certain of is that there will be a significant emphasis on making the Public Sector more productive, more efficient and less wasteful. It’s an easy thing to say, but where exactly do the various budget holders of these bodies begin to assess where these savings can be made.
Well, there are lots of areas I could subjectively highlight, but instead I think I’ll stick to what I know for the time being. eLearning is one area where the NHS can start to make big efficiency and cost savings without the requirement for a massive capital outlay or complicated infrastructure assessments. eLearning helps to enhance the traditional “lecture theatre” based approach to learning and it is commonly accepted that a blended approach of new and old methods is the real route to success
The advantages are tangible – MMT Digital’s Web-Induction Training eLearning software provides a widely accessible and constantly available platform for doctors, nurses, porters and medical students to log onto and blend their classroom learning with a highly interactive, innovative and interesting educational resource they can access anywhere they have a connection to the internet.
It’s cost effective, it has a proven ROI, it reduces the ongoing need for time and resource hungry lecture based training and, most importantly, it reclaims the time of your key medical personnel so they can spend more of their time where it matters (with the patient!). MMT Digital are experts at taking educational medical content and transforming it into an interactive, creative and engaging eLearning environment – it’s what we’ve done since day one!
